The Incredible Hercules

I started reading these because they were a part of the World War Hulk storyline. During the WWH run, I thought it was ok enough to keep buying, but I wasn't all that impressed. Once WWH was over though, and the title went from the Incredible Hulk to the Hercules title, things really started getting good.

At the moment the run is really just a sort of buddy cop odd couple movie. The two couldn't be more opposite unless one of them was a woman. You have the young, super smart, low morals, fragile Amadeus Cho, and of course the demi-god, somewhat slow, high moral, super strong and invulnerable Hercules. Freaking perfect.

The run has been a lot of fun so far. Since the WWH stuff, the two have basically been on the run from S.H.I.E.L.D., and while Hercules is just fine with laying low, Cho wants to take them head on. Cho of course keeps getting them into trouble, taking Hercules along for the ride, and the two work together to win the day. Lots of humor in this book, which has been the best part. The part in #114 where Ares wacks Wonder Man with the concrete block while shouting "NO! Blows from an unseen assailant have felled Wonder Man!" just to steal a car and go after his vendetta against Herc was laugh out loud funny.

Not sure how long this run will go, or if they may even spin them off onto their own book. I'm hoping they stay put for a while though. As long as the writing stays this good, I'll be buying it.
