Fantastic Four 553

I'm starting to get disappointed with Marvel story lines. It's getting to the point where nothing ever happens in them. I get that you can't change a bunch of things all the time, because people like a certain amount of continuity. The problem is, they are creating really good stories, and then just kind of stopping everything at the end. Captain America dying is about the only big thing that's happened. Oh yeah, and killing minor giant dude in Civil War with the fake Thor. I'll give them Captain America, everything else though has just been a huge let down.  Civil War, WW Hulk (I'll have to get to that at some point) and now Fantastic Four.

Now, I'll admit that the current run in Fantastic Four isn't even on the level of the other two I mentioned, but it follows that same line. You get to a big climatic ending, and instead of being cool, everyone turns out to be a good guy, nothing happens, and even freaking Dr. Doom turns out to be a decent guy (even if it is a future version) and even gets his own cookie at the end.

I even enjoyed the timeline stuff at the beginning, as if it was alluding to something great coming up. At the end though, it was so freaking cute that I'm surprised there wasn't a scene where you find out everyone in the future gets there own puppy, even Doom, and then they all go for ice cream. I'm also very happy I hadn't eaten lunch yet, because I might have lost it.

Here's a question, the Doom of the future had to break out of prison. Cause he's a bad guy. He come back to change time.

SPOILER ALERT HERE (cause I'm a nice guy)

Yet at the end, everyone is fine with him going to his own timeline where there's no more heroes. Even mentioning that in that timeline, the end of what was World War Hulk, was Hulk killing everyone, and then finding out he did a bad thing and it wasn't the heroes fault, and killing himself.

Reed even mentions the Illuminati to everyone. I thought that was supposed to be a secret, but maybe I missed the memo.

Overall, I hope the FF goes back to some decent story lines, or it's going to get drop kicked off my weekly pull. Soon as I actually get one.
