All Hail Thor!

Alright, I've never been a huge Thor fan. It's not that I dislike him or anything, I just never got into any of his series. He was cool in the Avengers when he was around, and that was pretty much all I ever read of him. I decided to pick up the new series just for the hell of it, and the first two were ok.

Then #3 came along, and Thor pretty much kicks the hell right of of Iron Man. Which was fantastic, although way too short. Thor doesn't even seem to break a sweat, and pretty much treats Iron Man like a pest. Thor does know about the whole fake Thor thing in Civil War, and is pretty pissed about the whole thing. Iron Man gives his little registration with-us-or-against-us speech, and Thor tells him he doesn't give a damn, and gives his own ultimatum, which boils down to "leave me alone or else". Pretty sweet.

Overall the story was just to set it up that Thor doesn't really care about the Civil War stuff, and is going to stay out of everything. Plus Iron Man comes up with some scheme to treat Asgard as a diplomatic haven, so the government won't be coming after Thor. Kind of a quick way to separate Thor from all the other stuff going on in the Marvel Universe.

I'm really not sure if I care about where they're going with the story. Even though it was well worth the money to see him wail on Iron Man, and I like that Asgard is now floating over Texas, I don't really care about the search to resurrect all of the Asgardians. I never cared about them at all as characters, and it just seems like a long way to go to put everything back the way it was. The stories might be good, but we'll see. I'm hoping there's some sort of payoff at the end, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
