Drunken Comics Rage

I really didn't want to start reading comics again for just this reason. My plan was, maybe get one or two really good titles, and try to look at the independent comics for maybe some good Fantasy or Scifi titles. All of that, of course, went horribly down in flames.

I hadn't gone to the comics shop the week before SDCC, and didn't really buy any weekly comics at the Con. The problem was that I was on-call at work (or Hell as I like to call it) and didn't even get to leave my freaking apartment at all last week, let alone go and get comics. When I finally did get to the shop this Wednesday, it was bad. I picked up:

New Avengers #33? (what ever number the newest one is)

WWHulk #2 and #3

WWH - Frontline #2 and #3

3 Annihilation Conquest titles

Hulk #109

Thor #2

Illuminati #4

Green Arrow #2 and #3

That's a hell of a lot more comics than I wanted to be buying, but the hell with it. My last hold out is that I haven't started a weekly pull at the shop yet. I'm sure that's just a matter of time though.

As for The Monkey, I put it to him like this:

The difference between buying on the TPB and the comics is like comparing the difference between a porn star and a hooker. They're both doing the deed for money, it's just the porn star likes to call it art.
