Iron Man Movie Review

Well, right off the bat I'm going to tell you that the movie was great. I was somewhat worried that I was going to have set my expectations way too high, and was going to be a little disappointed, but it was even better than I was hoping. I'll try to break down some of the things I liked, and if I can come up with anything I disliked (which I don't think there is).

1. WATCH ALL OF THE CREDITS! - This is a must. You have to sit through the cool looking credits, then the everyone else credits, and there's a lot of them. Depending on what theater you're in, this might mean you will be sitting there with the lights on, and some teenager is waiting on you to move so he can clean up all that popcorn you spilled all over the place, but don't move until it's all over. You will be rewarded.

2. The suit looked great. I'd have to see it again and really look at it, but overall I didn't see anything that made me think CGI. Though I will also admit that there was constantly a high cool factor going on, so I might have just glossed over it as Iron Man was wailing on something.

4. The story was really good. Probably the best movie origin story so far for a comic book movie. I think this was mostly to the fact that him building the suit was just downright laugh out loud funny. Then, once he gets the suit on, he's not just stopping a mugger or something, he's flying around blasting stuff in a war zone.

5. I wasn't the biggest fan of Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Tony Stark. I thought he would do a good job and all, as I've always thought he was a good actor, but I just wasn't sold on him overall. Well, he pretty much nailed it. He did a fantastic job.

6. Speaking of good roles, Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane was a really good choice. I thought he did a really good job, and really seemed to disappear into the role with the bald head and beard.

7. The Movie Tavern rocks. When I can get a burger, three martinis and watch a good movie, that's what I call a damn good time.

8. I was happy that I was not the one in the Iron Man shirt. (points at the Monkey)

9. Yes, I didn't get around to writing this until Monday. You were warned that I might not get to it. Bite me.

Alright, that's all I really have for now without giving away any movie spoilers. I'm sure for most of the stuff, everyone reading this would already know or it wouldn't be a big shock to them, but I'll give it a week or so before maybe coming back, and giving some more details on things.

It was a great movie, and one of the best comic book based movies so far I think. If you haven't seen it yet, go out and do so. Even if yo've never been an Iron Man fan, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
