A Response From The Writer of The Mice Templar

In one of my recent posts, I mentioned that I still enjoyed the series, but was getting a little worried about where it was going, and what had happened so far. You can read that review HERE.

Well, the writer of the series, Bryan J.L. Glass, read the review and contacted us here at DCR with a response. He was nice enough to let us post it here, so I've added it in below. It does address some of the things that I mentioned, so I'm really looking forward to the next few issues.

I’m very appreciative of your thoughts, and am glad you’re sticking around for a few more issues…

But to address your specific concerns: everything in MT occurs for a larger reason, and nothing is random. Personally, I suspect most of your misgivings and disappointment are the result of an originally intended monthly book forced by circumstance to come out bi-monthly. It feels like forever between issues, and our story is the kind that steadily builds upon itself.

We’ve so appreciated your good words and support in the past that I am willing to answer any questions you may have about the series.

I can say that issues 2 & 3 were about misdirection: setting up Pilot to be something that he is not. The cliffhanger involving the the ants was to showcase the general imbalance of the natural world, as well as provide Pilot another opportunity for “death magic.” Rescue from “The Many” allowed Karic his first moment to rise above his station and save the day.

The encounter with Black Anaius is an unfortunate manipulation by Pilot to seek answers from darkness instead of light. The consequences of that one supernatural encounter will resonate throughout the entire series, up to and through its conclusion.

Issues 4-6 will set up much about what the series is really about (and you’ve only read the first issue of that trio).

On other notes…
Issue #2 revealed a serious font problem that we believe affected the impact of the issue.
While #3 revealed a dark printing problem that we have since rectified as of issue #4.

Overall, we are committed to a steadily building story. Some great action is currently unfolding, while HUGE action is still yet to come.

I hope issues 5 & 6 give you what you are looking for!
Thanks again for your support…
And I think your blog title has one of the best Blog Names!
Keep on drinkin’ and raging!
